Christmas Wreath - Tarrah McLean
Hi everyone!
It’s Tarrah McLean back with you on the Teresa Collins blog today! I hope you are all keeping well and staying positive as much as possible?
I really want to get into the spirit of Christmas early this year (goodness knows we all need some fun and good cheer after the year we have all had!) So I have a festive project to share with you today that features mostly the stunning new Evergreen collection! Christmas crafts always make me happy!
I decided to create a Christmas wreath to decorate my home with this Christmas!
At first I was going to incorporate some of the white/green papers from the Evergreen collection into the wreath however once I got started, I decided to stick with the majority green papers.
I took 2 size dinner plates and traced them both onto some chipboard to create my wreath base.
Using a craft knife, I carefully cut out the outer circle and also the inner circle. Once it was all cut out, I pulled out my Christmas Holly dies from my stash and began die-cutting until I pretty much ran out of paper! All up I used 3 sheets of 12’ x 12’, 2 of the plain green paper and 1 of the green plaid paper.
Next I took the gorgeous thicker green plaid washi tape from the Evergreen collection and covered the entire chipboard base with the tape.
Next is the fun part of arranging and adhering all the pieces of holly onto the wreath! Firstly I added double sided tape to the wreath, this made it easier for me to just stick the holly straight on and reposition the pieces if I needed to. I added some extra liquid adhesive if I felt there was a need for extra hold.
The holly leaves just had to have the accompanying red berries added, I die-cut 5 lots of these from some red cardstock found in my stash and adhered them around the wreath. Also the wreath would not be complete with a big gorgeous red bow! I found some red hessian like fabric in my stash, tied a bow and adhered it to the top.
Once I felt the leaves were attached well, I bent some of them up to create some dimension on my wreath. It is beginning to come together now, I love how realistic it looks!
To complete the wreath, I wanted to add some of the awesome stickers from the Evergreen collection too, I chose to add some of the round sentiment ones as well as some of the small strip sentiment ones. Finally I took some thin gold ribbon and added 2 small bells to each end of the ribbon. I then adhered the ribbon to the back of the wreath at the top so the bells could hang down in the centre.
And there you have it, a pretty Christmas wreath handmade from scratch to decorate my home with and bring a smile to my face each time I look at it! I sure hope you enjoyed my wreath project and it bought a smile to your face too. Bring on the Christmas cheer! I absolutely love how my wreath turned out, it was super simple to make too. If you follow along with the steps that I have done, you will have one created in no time!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Evergreen, Teresa Collin’s new 2020 Christmas line is out now so if you want to create a wreath with it like I have, make sure to pick it up from the Teresa Collins online store!
Take care and happy creating!

Love the idea! Thanks for sharing this! Looks great! I’m thinking about making a similar wreath, except maybe adding a welcome to hang on my front door.
Muchas gracias. ?Como puedo iniciar sesion?
