Fall Wreath - Shilo Johnson
“Life starts all over again, when it gets crisp in the fall” – F. Scott Fitzgerald
There is something so calming about fall! The leaves are changing, soup simmering on the stove and all the holidays are approaching.
I decided it was time to make something for my front door.
I loved the Fall Leaf cut file and decided to make that the base of my wreath. I cut them in a creamy white. Some of them I backed in various Teresa Collins Studio papers
Some of them I painted with gold sparkles.
For the base of the wreath, I spray painted a grape vine wreath rose gold.
I used hot glue to attach the leaves, some crumpled book pages and other embellishments. I was excited to use pieces from the top of corn stocks I grew this summer as accents.
For the focal point of this wreath, I added a Turkey I got at a local store. I embellished it with a navy bow to match the papers and some of Teresa Collins Studios gold sequins.
I think this wreath would be fun with a pumpkin or other critter too to give it less of a Thanksgiving vibe.
To finish off the wreath I used the Block Alphabet cut file to make a simple banner. I spelled out Thankful. Other words I considered were fall, grateful, harvest, blessings.
I hope your fall is full of blessings and joy!
