WALL DECOR - CARYN KIDWELL

Hi Crafty Friends-
I am excited to share my project with you. This month I took a Dollar Tree Wall Decor Sign and altered it using all Teresa Collins Studio products except for the black cardstock, black flower ribbon, pop dots and hot glue. This photo was taken of me the last week of July when I was selected to be on the 2020/2021 Teresa Collins Design Team. I plan to hang this sign in my Craft Studio as a reminder of 2020 Goals that I have achieved.

I applied adhesive (Teresa Collins Xyron Mega Runner) to the sign. I took a 12x12 sheet of black cardstock and adhered it to the sign. Next, I used my X-Acto knife and cut off the excess cardstock. I then secured the black flower ribbon to the top with hot glue.

I used on of my favorite classic papers Teresa Collins Studio Gold Damask Vellum sheets. I traced the sign onto the velum with pencil. I then cut the vellum a 1/8" shorter on all sides so that the black cardstock could still be shown. I also chose another favorite, Teresa Collins Stationary Studio floral cardstock paper. This floral cardstock is heavy which made it very easy to fussy cut each of the flowers individually to frame the sign. Next, I added pop dots to the flowers to give dimension to them. I decided to add another element to the flowers and used the Teresa Collins Essential Brads. I cut off the ends of the brads and adhered them with hot glue to the center of each flower.

You can use washi tape in different ways. I selected a roll from the Bold Collection. Since this washi had numerous sentiments, I chose to cut out Be You. I added adhesive to the washi and then matted it on a one of the packaging from a Teresa Collins item.

In my September Empowerment Box, I receive the She Is Strong set of 5 Art Prints. I cut the packaging sentiment that had ìBehind Every Successful Women is Herself and added it to the sign with pop dots.

I cut out the camera from the Photo Gallery card and added a sentiment on top of the camera.
